China resources group required a reclaimed water treatment system for the Henan Shouyangshan (2 x 600 MW) power plant. The effluent from Luoyang sewage treatment plant is treated by this system. The treated water is reused as circulating cooling water and boiler make-up water. And the produced sludge can be directly used for the desulfurization process in the power plant.
A lime technology is utilized in this project, including automated powdered lime storage, metering and preparation system. The milk lime is fed into the specially designed clarifier. This technology solves the issues, such as hopper rat-holing, arching and bridging of the lime system to achieve a dust-free process.

In the pilot experiment, it is mainly investigated how hydraulic retention time (HRT) influences the wastewater treatment performances with the control variable method when the influent comes from cassava alcohol plant. This is the hash and tough wastewater. With a determined HRT and a variable SRT, the optimized removal efficiency (sludge retention time (SRT) = 30 d) is observed. With these optimum HRT and SRT condition, two different activated sludge concentrations was investigated to compare the effect factors of wastewater treatment. In the end of this experiment, the optimum condition of cassava alcohol wastewater treatment with anoxic/oxic/anoxic/oxic (AO/AO) - membrane bio-reactor (MBR) combination process was observed.

Utilization of Advanced Technologies
There were two water treatment stages designed in the wastewater treatment project: Biochemical wastewater treatment and reclaimed water treatment. These water treatment stages are able to meet the requirements to process different wastewaters or varying qualities. The ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchanger and triple effect evaporation technologies utilized in the processes ensures the high quality of the treated water.
-
Zero liquid discharge
The zero liquid discharge concept applied in this project maximum the use of natural resources without leaving any waste to environment.
Binnan oil field of Sinopec Shengli oilfield operates a wastewater treatment plant using conventional treatment processes which had its own limitations. SafBon provided the solution to their urgent problems by designing and delivering advanced treatment processes using DAF, precoat filtration and RO for treating their oily wastewater and desalination needs. It helped the plant reach the discharge criteria and allowed the treated water to be recirculated as boiler make-up water.
